December 2010 Update: Theater Awarded 3rd EPF Grant of $142,000

The Board was notified that the Theater was awarded its 3rd Environmental Protection Fund (EPF) Grant in the amount of $142,000. Created in 1993, New York’s Environmental Protection Fund provides grants through NYS Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation to preserve, rehabilitate, and restore lands, waters, historic structures and resources, and recreation and conservation areas. The Hollywood Theater previously received EPF grants in 2007 and the spring of 2010 in the amounts of $500,000 and $400,000. Monies from EPF #1 were used for the additions to the men and women’s bathrooms completed this year. Monies from EPF #2 will be used for wall plaster, lighting fixtures, interior door repairs and plumbing projects to begin in the near future.The money from EPF #3 will be received in the spring/summer of next year and is slated to be used for ceiling plaster and painting.
